GDC Ramgarh in collaboration with Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Mission Shakti, Samba organized an awareness programme on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace also known as POSH Act. The event was organized under the able guidance and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College and was aimed at empowering women by creating awareness about their legal rights to prevent and address sexual harassment at the
workplace. The resource person for the session was Amandeep Kaur, a para-legal lawyer, who delivered an informative lecture on the POSH Act. She elaborated on the provisions of the Act,
its significance, and the protection it offers to women in the workplace. She highlighted the role of the Internal Complaint Cell (ICC) and Local Complaint Cell (LCC), which serve as vital
platforms for addressing sexual harassment cases both within institutions and at the local level. She emphasized that the POSH Act has empowered women across India to assert their rights and
maintain autonomy in the workplace, ensuring a safe and secure environment for them. She also highlighted on "Vishaka Guidelines" that were stipulated by the Supreme Court of India, in Vishaka and others State of Rajasthan case in 1997, regarding sexual harassment at workplace, a landmark case which helped with giving rise to the POSH Act, 2013. She also threw insights on welcomed and unwelcomed behaviour at work place.
