Three day “Indegenous Craft Demonstration cum Awareness Workshop” concludes at GDC Ramgarh

The three-day “Craft Demonstration cum Awareness Programme,” organized by Government Degree College, Ramgarh in collaboration with the Handicrafts Service Centre Jammu, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India successfully concluded on 28-10-2024. The workshop aimed to empower participants through hands-on training in indigenous crafts, including decoupage, pottery, Basholi painting, and bamboo craft, thereby enhancing their creativity and entrepreneurial skills Under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College and with the
support of IQAC convener Dr. Aditi Khajuria and faculty members, the workshop provided an enriching experience for all participants.
Throughout the three days, participants engaged in practical sessions led by skilled resource persons: Mrs. Priya Gupta (Decoupage/Clay Art), Mr. Ankit (Pottery), Mrs. Antima Manhas
(Basholi Painting), and Mr. Rashpaul (Bamboo Craft). The students created various handcrafted items, showcasing their newly acquired skills. On the concluding day, an exhibition cum sale of
these crafted items was held, providing participants with an opportunity to display their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The exhibition was a tremendous success, with numerous faculty members and students enthusiastically bought a diverse selection of handcrafted items.
